ZeitLeben - Full Score and Parts
Description
"ZeitLeben" lit. Living in Time is a work for Advanced High School or College level string orchestra. The piece uses jazz harmonies and the alchemy of a full string section using divisi and solo moments to convey a feeling of floating through time. It then becomes grounded in a building rock-march tempo before being whisked away on a wild chase. The piece ends solemnly with a soli section for chamber strings before the main theme returns for one final statement.
The piece was originally premiered in Sarasota, Florida, but then was recorded by the Ann Arbor Camerata in Michigan. Most recently, the piece was performed by Roswell High School Chamber Orchestra in Georgia. This is a great work for level 5 or 6 orchestras looking to dive into modern classical.
