Description
"Chanson Lyrique" is a piece inspired by some of the great Romantic composers like Schumann. The work introduces a powerfully lyrical motif that begins in the organ, then is taken over by the cello and journeys through variety of moods including a battle against death, only to regain its strength and finish with a strong recapitulation of the original theme.
The work received it's premiere in 2018 at John's Creek United Methodist Church and has been performed at Spoletto festival in Charleston 2022 as part of the L'Organo concert series.
